Ride the Blue Ridge
August 10, 2018 - August 12, 2018
Ride the Blue Ridge with Yellow Bike Tours / Aug 10 – 12
This is a more challenging adventure with 3 days of epic cycling through the Blue Ridge Mountains focused on climbing techniques, breathing, riding at moderate altitude and healthy eating. Guests will enjoy challenging rides and great food over this long weekend experience. There is a reason bicycling on the Blue Ridge Parkway is considered world-class. Ranging in elevation from 600 to 6,000 feet, the BRP encompasses a variety of ever-changing weather conditions, regardless of the season. At Yellow Bike Tours, its one of our favorite places to ride for the challenging terrain, the great roads and epic views.
Day 1- Loop Banner Elk and Beech Mountain area, with an optional finish up Beech Mountain. It’s one of the more challenging and beautiful climbs in the area, pitching up well into the double digits!
Day 2- Ride part of the Blue Ridge Pkwy/Little Switzerland and some additional scenic side roads.
Day 3 – Shuttle to Marion, NC area. Ride to the summit of Mt. Mitchell, which is the highest point in the east. Its 25+ miles with most of it being uphill.
Accommodations will be at a comfortable mountain house. We will have our Yellow Bike nutrition team prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. All rides will have full SAG support and mechanical.
